Director of Studies / Academic Manager

Lexis English is Australia’s largest group of privately owned specialist English language providers.  With campus locations in Brisbane, Perth, Noosa, Maroochydore and Byron Bay, we provide high-quality ELICOS programs in some of Australia’s most attractive study destinations.  Lexis’ first overseas campus will open later this year.

 

Lexis English Byron Bay was established in 2007, and offers a range of courses including General English, Cambridge and IELTS to international students from a wide range of backgrounds.

 

Lexis Byron Bay is currently seeking applicants for the Director of Studies / Academic Manager role. 

 

Reporting to the General Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • The day-to-day management of all departments of the Byron Bay Campus
  • Managing General English, Cambridge, IELTS and other programs offered by the college
  • Ensuring compliance with Lexis group curriculum and systems
  • Ensuring continued compliance with regulatory bodies such as ASQA.
  • Recruitment, training and management of ELICOS teachers
  • Recruitment, training and management of Administration staff
  • Managing student attendance and other records
  • Providing students with academic and welfare counselling
  • Developing and maintaining articulation programs with vocational and tertiary colleges

Most importantly, we are seeking a ‘hands on’ manager who is willing to take on a real sense of ownership to their position and the Byron Bay campus as a whole.

Minimum requirements for this position are:

  • A minimum of 5 years ESL teaching experience, most likely in a an accredited ELICOS school or VET college within Australia
  • A degree and a post-graduate qualification in ESL
  • Sound understanding of ASQA requirements, the ESOS Act, ELICOS National Standards and the National Code
  • Familiarity with standard Office computer packages and student management databases

Senior Teacher - Lexis English Brisbane

Lexis English is one of Australia's largest and fastest-growing groups of specialist English language providers, with campus locations in Brisbane, Perth, Noosa, Maroochydore and Byron Bay. We are currently looking for a qualified English instructor to take on a dual teaching/administration role at our busy Brisbane City campus. This is a full time, continuing position.

In the Senior Teacher role, you will teach a range of programs including General English, IELTS and the Cambridge suite (FCE, CAE and CPE) on an ongoing basis (generally on a 20 hours per week basis), as well as take on an administrative role within the company (up to 18 hours per week). This is career path position and is suitable for a candidate considering a long term future in the ESL industry.

Marketing Manager - Korea

One of Australia’s leading providers of training to international students, Lexis English (formerly Global Village English Centres) is a group of English language schools with campus locations in Brisbane, Perth, Noosa, Maroochydore and Byron Bay.

Lexis English is now seeking a Marketing Manager for the Korean market.   As Lexis  operates a centralised marketing department to service all of our campus locations, the successful applicant will be marketing some of Australia's most attractive study destinations.

The successful applicant will have:

-    Fluent Korean and business level English skills
-    A track record of success in a marketing role in the international education industry
-    Relationships with key providers in the Korean agent market

Homestay and Accommodation Coordinator (Position in Perth and Maroochydore)

Lexis Sunshine Coast  and Perth campuses is now seeking a Homestay / Accommodation Coordinator. This position is best suited to a hands-on, self-motivated and highly organised ‘people person’, with strong ties to the local area.

This role may be either full or part time, depending on the preference of the successful applicant.

Key tasks for this position include:

- Developing and maintaining a database of families to host our international students
- Placing students with appropriate families
- Providing pastoral care to students while they are in Homestay
- Liaising with overseas agents to ensure quality of service
- Liaising with the Juniors Department to place group tour / Teen Activity Program students

Key skills for this position include:

- Strong computer skills, with experience in MS Word, Excel and basic database packages
- High level organisational skills and a real attention to detail
- A warm, supportive manner and clear communication skills
- A current drivers licence

Our ideal applicant will have previous experience in a similar role, but anyone fitting the criteria with a genuine interest in international education is encouraged to apply.
